Coming back to the City after a day in the burbs, we wanted to have a late lunch and saw the Madison Tavern. They had a good beer list and a good selection of varied foods from sandwiches to burgers and salads. Service was good but you will need to get the attention of some wait staff to break up their gossip time. Food was good, served to temperature and fairly quick. It was rather quite and not much of a crowd. Not Sue what you can expect when it is busy. Overall, not a bad experience.

Went here with friends to celebrate a work anniversary, and we had a great time. The food was delicious, and the portions were a good size. Definitely left full and satisfied. I had two drinks: the ultraviolet and the elderton. Both were great and strong. My friends had the city sangria and a mule, and enjoyed them. The prices were decent for the loop, and surprisingly crowded for a Wednesday, but it is also a great place to go if you're waiting for a train. It is in Ogilvie station and across the street from the Madison Street entrance of Union. The only complaint I have is seating/service. When you enter, there is a sign that says to sit wherever, but there most tables had reserved plaques. I noticed that most didn't even show for those reservations in the couple hours we were there. When we did managed to snag a table, it took a while to get someone other to both clear it and take our orders (we ended up having to grab the first table we could when some other people left). I felt it could have been more organized. Regardless, I would come back again; my friends and I had a good time.

I came here with my coworkers for team lunch on Thursday around noon and the place was pretty empty. I used to come here a lot precovid for happy hours with coworkers and always had a blast. It was my first time grabbing lunch here and would probably come back in the future! They have some really good food specials every day as well as drinks. I ordered their baja fish tacos with a side of fries and a mango margarita. The mango margarita was super good and I wish I was able to order a second round, but I had to go back to work so next time it is! Pricing was reasonable for being in the loop! Tacos were OK and fries were good. Overall I had a good experience here, so can't wait to be back!

Met a friend here while in transit and I decided for a lighter lunch. I ended up going for the avocado toast. The toast was guacamole, arugula, and goat cheese, all topped with a fried egg. The combination was really fantastic. The avocado balanced out the goat cheese, the the fried egg (with a gooey yolk) provided a perfect complement to both. The fries that came alongside were thick cut and absolutely delicious. This is definitely a great place to stop in if you're in downtown Chicago in the vicinity of Union Station.

As I explored the dishes on the menu, I was particularly impressed with the Chicken and Waffle Sliders—an inventive fusion that captures the spirit of comfort food.
